Ice cream parlour Guba in Meerhout has its sights set on creating experiences 100%.
Colac is immensely proud to proclaim itself the first-ever winner of the Greener Planet Award, one of the major SME sustainability awards for the EU food and drink industry – known as The Foodies.
Kanaal Z – a Belgian television channel which mainly features economic news – visited us in Beerse to learn all about ice cream. Naturally, Jeanne, the co-manager and Thomas, the sales manager for Belgium were keen to tell them about Colac.

In the food industry, water is used for heating, cooling and cleaning. Colac has chosen to invest in sustainable water use. A 1.4 million liter water basin was built under the production facility. This large water basin collects rainwater from the roof.
After a number of successful participations in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, Colac was looking for a more permanent solution to respond to the demand from the Chinese market. A number of options were considered, but due to cultural differences and the language barrier, it was decided to hire someone in China. Fiona started at Colac in January 2019.
