In the food industry, water is used for heating, cooling and cleaning. Colac has chosen to invest in sustainable water use. A 1.4 million liter water basin was built under the production facility. This large water basin collects rainwater from the roof.
After a number of successful participations in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, Colac was looking for a more permanent solution to respond to the demand from the Chinese market. A number of options were considered, but due to cultural differences and the language barrier, it was decided to hire someone in China. Fiona started at Colac in January 2019.
Belgian food companies are exporting more and more products abroad. Colac is displayed in the Belgian media as an example company in the food sector that grows a lot and exports a lot.
In the summer of 2017 the new buildings in Beerse are gradually being finalized. The offices were ready in October 2017 and we were all able to move and use the new location. All employees contributed.
